Merve Yıldıran was born in 1985 in Ankara. She graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Communication, Radio, Television and Cinema Department. Following her BA degree, she received her master's degree in Visual Communication Design at Anadolu University. She worked as a director, screenwriter and stop-motion animator in the field of cinema. Her short films have been screened at national and international film festivals and received several awards. Her first book "Kirpi Kız" which she wrote and illustrated, was published in 2015. She is currently working on interdisciplinary arts and literature. Also, focusing on character, costume and stage design, puppet techniques, hand-crafted three dimensional illustration and doll art. Her works combine the line and form of sculpture with the playful anima of puppetry. She loves nature, animals, feelings and miracles, and keeps telling stories about them every chance she gets.
